Our   Story


 
John Bohm (Director/Producer)-
 
John has been an independent film Director/Producer for over 20 years.  He first feature “Fr. G and the Homeboys” won numerous awards at many film festivals around the country.  The film chronicles the life of Fr. Greg Boyle and his work with gang members from East Los Angles.  John is also an educator and has taught students in New York, Los Angeles as well as overseas.  He is currently working on a feature length script titled “The Last Supper” and has recently finished writing a children’s book based on his family and their holiday gatherings.  John started Great Wave Productions in 2003 with the hope and desire of producing films that are thought provoking and socially conscience.
 
 
Diane Durazo (Associate Producer)
 
Dianne Durazo, a 2nd generation Mexican-American and LA native, is passionate about storytelling. After receiving her MFA in Screenwriting from CSUN and being a semifinalist in the Disney Fellowship, she joined Hulu's Original Comedy division, focusing on Currents, Development, and managing the Adult Animation Slate. She is now working at a major production company, concentrating on features and comedies, and loves working on projects that inspire.
 
Bong Hung (Cinematographer)-
 
With over 30 years of experience in film, Bong first got his start specializing in motion pictures and television as a Camera Assistant. After enough years of mastery, he seamlessly advanced into the role of Director of Photography. Throughout the start of his career, Bong gained experience from working on well-known shows like Dirty Jobs, Hell’s Kitchen, MTV Punk’d, and Ghost Hunters. YellowBFilms was established in 2012 as a result of his aspiration to have further creative freedom to produce while simultaneously working independently. The portfolio of productions produced by YellowBFilms includes a plethora of projects varying from films for debut fashion shows for the Los Angeles Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising to automotive videos for Autotrader.com. Notably, YellowBFilms has also produced industrial videos and documentaries. Bong’s work ethic is supported by years of experience and exposure in the television industry, which has been applied to his independent work over the past 12 years.
 
 
Pete Tapia (Editor)-
 
Pete has worked in post-production his entire career.  Highlights include music videos for Marilyn Manson, Nelly Furtado and Sheryl Crow as well as commercial work with the late great Tony Scott.  He moved into promo work for the various   networks including CBS, Fox and a full time stay with NBC Universal. 
 In the latter part of his time in Hollywood, he took a more directorial role in short films and documentaries, where he met John Bohm. They Co-directed the critically acclaimed "Father G and the Homeboys", A redemption story that follows 4 former gang members on their journeys to make a meaningful life from abandoned childhoods, all under the guidance of Father Greg Boyle and the Homeboy Industries.  Pete is currently working on various shows and documentaries for TBS, NBC and TMZ.
